Understanding Alternative Health
A major challenge in this project was familiarising myself with alternative health comment which for the most part has a less extensive database of online resources to draw from than allopathic medicine
Changing then narrative
Being able to take what has long been considered a 'pseudoscience' and converting it into a trusted source of health advice and a viable well method of healing backed by real experts requires strong marketing and customer education.
Social Media Design
Creating a strong online presence through social media such as Instagram and Facebook can help for customer outreach as well as solidify a community of followers helping to build the reputation of the business
Mobile App Design
Testing bug fixes on an app that was yet to be active was essential in ensuring the user flows all worked seamlessly and with no errors. In addition, designing important screens such as purchase in shop option was vital to implement to allow for a full range of services to be available the tap of a finger for users and practitioners.
Website Design
This involved an overall branding design which would correlate intuitively to the current existing style guides being marketed in the various other channels such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin
Marketing Content
Marketing content such as flyers, stories & adverts were essential in the efforts to widen the demographic of followers and users of dotiv's platform. For the most-part this would be essential in collaborations with expert practitioners in the varying modalities which would be harder to find through independent searching online
Alternative Health Modalities
A holistic medical system using natural therapies (herbs, nutrition, hydrotherapy) to support the body’s innate self-healing ability, emphasizing prevention and treating the root cause of illness.
An evidence-informed approach using individualized diet and nutrient supplementation to correct biochemical imbalances, address deficiencies, and support optimal bodily function.
A therapeutic method using highly diluted substances that in larger doses would cause symptoms in a healthy person, based on the principle “like cures like” to stimulate the body’s own healing response.
An ancient system balancing the vital life energy (Qi) and opposing forces (Yin/Yang) through acupuncture, herbs, diet, and movement (like Tai Chi) to maintain harmony and health.
A system of manual medicine focusing on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal misalignments, believing that proper structural alignment supports the body’s natural function and self-regulation.
An ancient Indian “science of life” focusing on balancing three fundamental bodily energies or doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) through diet, herbs, yoga, and lifestyle to maintain health and treat disease.
Mobile Screen Design
Purchases
Introducing these user flows was essential for creating an app architecture which provides clients with the ability to access dotiv products at the tap of a finger. Being able to leave reviews and purchase practitioner-prescribed products all in one app is a key component for building a community of invested customers
Appointments
In order for customers to seek their desired style of appointment in the most specific way possible, these screens contain as much filterable and detailed info as possible. Clients can make the most bespoke selection according to their preferred modality, practitioner and timing available.
Podcast Design
Learning about alternative health through conversation
Designing a page for podcast material was a necessary addition for a pre-existing website lacking in flaunting its full offerings of dotiv’s work. An opportunity to showcase a stream of educational content which garnered its own respective following on Instagram seemed perfect as part of the new website design.
The colour scheme chosen aligns to the branding colours used throughout the different platforms, mainly so that there is a visual synchronicity that users can intuitively familiarise with when using dotiv services.
Social Media Design
This post is a general advert that simply displays a young mixed-race family alongside the dotiv modalities to imply that the services they offer are modern and accessible to all types of people, in different stages of their life.
This post is an illustration that is visually easy to follow as well as educational. Breaking up posts with imagery and animations can help to not only declutter the page but give viewers/followers a variety of content to intake their knowledge of alternative health.
This post is designed in such a way that can be more engaging for followers and as a result very educational as they become accustomed to the lexicon surrounding alternative and complementary health. Gamifying as a concept can bring about greater enthusiasm and keenness to follow the page or boost interactions through other means, such as likes, comments, hashtags and reposts.
This post relates to a practitioner invited on to Dotiv the Podcast – a separate page which I was in charge of. Every week a new guest would speak to the owner in an insightful long form conversation about their practise, their mindset and their advice for any interested listeners.
This post contains an animated scene which not only can be more lighthearted in tone but also in a pragmatic sense it can really make creating scenes much easier cost efficient and time efficient as their is no need for photography or consent from people to use their face when everything is created digitally through vector points.
This post is an example of my task in listening to every episode to extract interesting points made by the guests that were quotable and suitable to be shared with all the dotiv followers. In this style, the post focuses solely on the content of the words and purposefully is not complex or distracted with many elements on the page.
